The Kwara State Government releases the resumption date for Tertiary and Basic schools.

The Kwara state government has announced the date of resumption which is January 11 for all basic and tertiary schools in the state.

Rafiu Ajakaye, The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of the state and also the Spokesman for Technical committee on COVID-19, made this announcement on Friday, January 1 in a statement issued in Ilorin.

“Government has proposed that safety policies to prevent the spread of the virus on their campuses should be put in place by tertiary institutions. The organizing ministry is to work hand in hand with the state technical committees on COVID-19 and other stakeholders to guarantee that the schools do not take these essential safety rules lightly.

The use of face masks is to be made mandatory on the campus and also in the lecture rooms. No one, students or otherwise, should be allowed into college facilities without the use of face masks.

Likewise, primary schools in the state are slated to resume on January 18, 2021, due to developments on the pandemic.

Though COVID-19 seems to have come to stay and also our society has to make do with the new normal, the government urges everyone to make their safety their responsibility by taking heed to protocols already put in place to flatten the curve of transmission”, the message read.
