Nigeria react to NIMC’s decision to invalidate BVN-generated NIN

Nigerians are giving their reaction to National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) statement that the National Identification Number (NIN) generated via Bank Verification Numbers (BVN), or else customers will be regarded as invalid if they do not physically go to any of the NIMC offices to complete their registration.

The *346# code was used by some Nigerian to generate their NIN.

The people who did their BVN registration on the year 2014 automatically had their NIN generated. This message was widely spread in December.

The NIMC stated that these NINs remains invalid until the registration occurs at the NIMC offices.

Some Nigerians who ha long generated their NIN have made up their minds not to the NIMC offices to reregister it.
According to the citizen, the commission can do their worst and disconnect their lines.

They stated that, as the COVID-19 pandemic is beginning the second wave, events like this is should be blocked by the agency to prevent the easy spread of the disease.
